Guide to White Vinyl Floor Tile

White vinyl floor tile can save you a lot of money. It’s an easy way to update your flooring and depending on the type that you choose you may even be able to install it yourself. However, just because something is inexpensive doesn’t mean that it has to look cheap. Here are a few tips for decorating with white vinyl floor tile.

Go graphic. This type of less expensive material rarely looks convincing. It will probably never really look like stone so instead it will just look cheap. Instead, you can just show off the elements that you wouldn’t find in a natural stone. You can create a very interesting checkerboard pattern. If you are planning on replacing your tile in a few years then you can hopefully experiment a little bit. For instance, in a teen girls bathroom you can try a pink and white checkerboard. If you want something a little bit more classic then try a black and white pattern in the kitchen.

You really want to focus in on your installation. If you’re using self stick tiles you want to make sure that they are installed perfectly. This will give your room more of a high end feel and it will also last a lot longer as well. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get quality. If you really do a lot of planning and careful installation you can get the same look that the professionals get on a budget.

Bring in high end pieces. This will make the entire room feel luxurious. You really want to create a focal point. This way the less expensive items such as the white vinyl flooring don’t cheapen the room. You can still get an elegant look by using cheap materials. This allows you to focus in on the pieces that you absolutely have to have in your room and save money on other elements. You can even do a partial redo to spruce up your room every few years to keep things looking current and fresh. This way you won’t have to remodel the entire space at the same time.

Go vintage. This can be a very fun way to get a different look using cheap materials. You can find a lot of interesting retro inspired patterns that can add a lot of life and color to your room. This will really get attention and can be a graphic element. It’s really a lot different than just that basic vinyl kitchen floor. It can be the focal point of your room and can really honor the material to bring out the best of what you can afford. Be aware that this won’t appeal to everyone so you might have to replace it when you put your home on the market. However if it’s pretty inexpensive then you can afford to experiment.
