Popular bedroom colors seem to be brown and blue. These colors will help get your spouse in on the decorating and can resemble a luxury hotel suite. Try an upholstered headboard and high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets in a crisp white for a hotel chic design. Keep the blue close to an aqua or robin egg’s blue. The brown color can anywhere from chocolate up to a light sand color. Make sure the wood colors in the room are almost black or brown for added luxury. If you don’t have wood furniture or you want to remodel paint your existing pieces dark brown. Modern furniture hardly shows a grain so you can get the look for less.
Small bedroom colors should be at one extreme or the other. Lighter colors open up the space while darker colors make a room feel more intimate. You may be hesitant to use dark colors in a small space but it plays a trick on the eye saying “I have enough room to be bold.” Stick to a tight color palette for a cohesive space that isn’t glaring. Taupe and yellow paired together make neutrals interesting.
Good bedroom colors are ones that you personally look and feel good in. You can base the bedroom color around your eyes or hair. If you’re brunette, accent the room with metallic pewter and rich mahogany tones. Try a lavender wall color that is soothing to sleep in but still a daring choice. The wood and metallic tones will balance it out.
Soothing bedroom colors don’t have to be boring. Create a cozy nest with a black or eggplant bedroom. Make sure you have light to read by. Put a lighter color on the bed to visually break up the space and make an instant focal point. Stay away from bright white which may seem too stark and try khaki instead. Darker colors give a more intimate and cozy feeling to create a nest.
Bedroom Color ideas can go back to basics without looking predictable. You can use pink in your bedroom even if you’re grown up. Install wood beams to accent a pitched ceiling. The beams can go around the perimeter of the room, from wall to wall, down the walls and across the ceiling. Stain the wood dark and distress it for a masculine feel. Brown and pink is a classic color combination and the pink really needs more masculine influences to make it work. Break up pink walls by using a French toile pattern. The rest of the room including the carpet, linens and ceiling color can be white. Apply toil fabric or wallpaper to the room so it doesn’t become overwhelming or Pepto-Bismol. There is a popular bedroom color for every design aesthetic and style.
