Interior Design Tips for Green Wallpaper

Green wallpaper can work with a lot of different designs. It’s a very subtle color that can be gender neutral. It can also appeal to all different age groups. As such it’s just as at home in a nursery as it is in the master bedroom. Here are a few tips for decorating with green wallpaper.

Make it sophisticated. This can be a very traditional look that you may have for years to come. This can really change how people think about wallpaper. It’s often put down in interior design just because a few decades ago this wallpaper was very country and cutesy. Then homeowners had to spend a weekend or two tearing it down. You could really change it up just by using it sparingly. You could just use a wallpaper as an accent on one wall or on the entire wall. This will really give it more of a modern feel.

Choose the shade of  green according to the purpose of the space. Green can be calming or  vibrant. This is perfect because you want to be able to get the exact feeling that will fit in with the mood and purpose of your space. For instance, some green can be unappetizing and therefore it’s not suitable for a dining room. However, you could try a brighter or more subtle color that will really either blend into the background or make a daring statement. This is really important to get a successful wallpaper application because you won’t  have as many different color choices as you would with paint so it’s important to the color right the first time.

Bring in patterns that people can relate to. You’ll be looking at this every day. Think of it as massive artwork. As such you want to make sure that you are really sure about the design before you put it up. This is vital to really get a piece that you can live with every day. You could go with a graceful botanical print such as a Fern.

Green can just be part of the entire color palette of your wallpaper. You could find an entire mural. Most murals will feature trees and grass. This allows you to really bring in a tropical  feel. It doesn’t have to be cheesy. It can add a lot to a nursery or even a basement  that doesn’t have large windows.
